Exhibition of Andarkilla Mosque Design Competition Projects Inaugurated at IAB Center

The inauguration ceremony of the Exhibition of Design Proposals for the Andarkilla Shahi Jame Mosque in Chattogram, organized under the supervision of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB), was held at the Multipurpose Hall of IAB Center.
The exhibition showcases the design submissions from an open architectural competition and will remain open to the public daily from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM until January 24, 2025.
The inaugural event was graced by prominent figures, including Ar. Professor Dr. Abu Sayeed M. Ahmed, President of IAB, Md. Abdul Awal Hawlader, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and A. Salam Khan, Director General of the Islamic Foundation Bangladesh.
Also present were Ar. Nowazesh Mahbub, Vice President (National Affairs), Ar. Dr. Masud Ur Rashid, General Secretary, Ar. Dr. Md. Nowroj Fatemi, Joint Secretary, Ar. Md. Wahid Asif, Secretary of Professional Affairs, Ar. Md. Shafiul Azam Shamim, Secretary of Publications and Publicity, and Ar. Saeeda Akter, Secretary of Seminars and Conventions.
Former IAB President Ar. Kazi Golam Nasir, Competition Director Ar. Kamrul Hasan, Mohammad Bazlur Rashid, Director of the Islamic Foundation, along with many other architects and distinguished guests, were also in attendance.
A total of 55 projects are being exhibited, including six award-winning designs from the competition:
First Prize: AGE & EDGE Architecture Studio
Second Prize: Spatial Architects
Third Prize: Form.3 Architects
First Commendation: Native Works
Second Commendation: Ground One
Third Commendation: Ahmed Hossain Architects and Associates
The Institute of Architects Bangladesh extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the winning and participating architects for their contributions to this significant competition.
