Feature Published: “The Spatial Journey of Architect Naimul Ahsan” in Ceramic Bangladesh

Ceramic Bangladesh magazine, a bi-monthly magazine focused on, Architecture, Real Estate, Construction and Lifestyle in Bangladesh has published a special feature titled “The Spatial Journey of Architect Naimul Ahsan,” highlighting the design philosophy and works of architect Naimul Ahsan Khan, principal of Spatial Architects.

The article traces his path from early professional experiences at VITTI Sthapati Brinda Ltd. and S. Islam Consultants to founding Spatial Architects in 2009 with architect Farzana Rahman. The firm has since completed over 200 projects across Bangladesh.

Khan’s approach blends modern simplicity with local culture and context. His notable works include the Shikor farmhouse, Chandrapuray Kichukhon residence, and Baitul Mamur Mosque, each reflecting his belief that architecture should serve people and surroundings rather than impose form.

The feature also highlights his major recognitions, including the Fael Khair Programme International Competition (2009), Eurasian Prize Gold Diploma (2021), and Architecture Master Prize Best of Best (2021).

Speaking to the magazine, Khan stresses that “being local is sustainable” and urges young architects to study Bangladesh deeply before designing for it.
